Israel Matters Meeting

Join Rabbi Naamah Kelman and her husband Elan Ezrachi for a discussion about Israel today. Based in Jerusalem, they have been involved for more than 40 years as professionals and lay people in critical areas of Jewish life.

Rabbi Naamah Kelman is a descendent of rabbis, becoming the first woman to be ordained by the Hebrew Union College in Jerusalem in 1992, where she recently retired as the Dean, she also served as Director of Year in Israel program. Born and raised in New York, she has lived in Israel since 1976; where she has worked for the promotion and establishment of Pluralistic Judaism for Israelis, Feminism and Inter-faith work and strengthening the ties between Israel and World Jewry. She is married to Dr Elan Ezrachi and are proud parents as well as ecstatic grandparents.

Elan Ezrachi is a Jerusalem-based consultant in the areas of Jewish Peoplehood and Israel – Diaspora relations. Elan served in various executive roles including: the International Dept. of Melitz – Center for Jewish Zionist education, the Charles Bronfman Mifgashin Center, Masa – Israel Journey (founding CEO) and the International School for Jerusalem Studies at Yad Ben-Zvi. He is currently on the faculty of the MA program in Jewish Peoplehood and the Ruderman Program on American Jewry at the University of Haifa. Author of two books: Awakened Dream: 50 Years of Complex Unification of Jerusalem (2017), and Deep Pain and Sublime Joy: Pepita and Yehuda Haezrahi (2022). His first novel is expected to be published in July 2024.
