  In March 2020, due to COVID-19, we were forced to pause our construction project to renovate and combine our 2 buildings, and we temporarily suspended the New Heights Capital Campaign.

  The Project Management Committee picked up the ball again in the fall, and on January 5, 2021, the Board of Trustees voted to sign the construction contract. The scaffolding went up on February 15, 2021 and the construction is underway in 127 Remsen Street (see slideshow, below). The work will extend into 131 Remsen during the summers. The completion date is August 2022. During the project, all precautions are being taken to protect the safety of our students, members, staff and visitors. Moreover, the construction is not interfering with the preschool, religious school, life cycle events, adult education/activities or worship services.

  The New Heights Campaign had raised $7.4MM by May 2021. To raise the remaining $2.1MM needed to reach our goal of $9.5MM, the campaign solicitors have resumed contacting members for pledges and donations. Our aim is 100% participation, and we look forward to talking to members about supporting this exciting venture to benefit our shared community now and into the future.
