Ruth Messinger | Refugee Shabbat

Immigration & Refugee Shabbat | Friday, February 9 at 6:30pm in the Sanctuary

Featured speaker Ruth Messinger — recently called by The New York Times “one of six New Yorkers who made the city a better, cooler, fairer place in 2023” — will grace our pulpit for this Shabbat with stories and messages to inspire us in helping the plight of our newest New Yorkers, our still-arriving and largely unsettled immigrants from many parts of the world. Ruth served as Manhattan Borough President from 1990-1998 and wears many hats to this day including the inaugural Global Ambassador for the American Jewish World Service and “unofficial czar of the migrant crisis” in New York.
